Superstar Rajinikanth, even as busy with works related to starting a political party, is also keeping himself updated with films ever since he reached Chennai late last week from Varanasi after completing the shoot of Petta there.
He has watched Ratsasan and Pariyerum Perumal, the two recent critically acclaimed films, at special screenings and heaped laurels on the teams behind the movies.
Vishnu Vishal, the protagonist of Ratsasan, quoted the ‘thalaivar’ as saying: “It’s a fantastic film, you were brilliant and looked super fit. Your combination with the director is awesome”.
Rajinikanth, Vishnu Vishal said, also wanted to know the name of the actor who played the psycho in the film and appreciated Vishnu’s body language.
After watching Pariyerum Perumal, Rajinikanth also called his Kabali and Kaala director Pa Ranjith, the producer of the movie, and appreciate him.
“The film gave me goosebumps, you have made it like a novel and it was an endearing experience”, said Rajinikanth.
Meanwhile on Tuesday, he said success cannot be achieved in politics with just fan clubs. “We cannot get what we want in politics without the support of general public,” he said.
In a statement, he said, “All disciplinary actions including removing of members from Rajini Makkal Mandram are taken only after my approval.”
He added: “I am keenly watching all the activities of my RMM members. Your hard work will not go waste. At the same time, we have renamed the fans club as Makkal Mandram to ensure public participation. Anyone who thinks that s/he can achieve political success without the support of general public is insane.”
