Rajini to attend Kamal’s birthday celebrations

Superstar Rajinikanth has always put friendship first when it comes to Kamal Haasan. In yet another gesture to prove this point, he will attend the 60th year celebrations of Kamal Haasan’s valuable presence in the Indian film industry.

Raj Kamal Films International has decided to celebrate it in style with a three day festivities planned. The celebrations will be held on November 7, 8 and 9 in his native Paramakudi and in Chennai, said a press release from Raaj Kamal Films International.

Kamal Haasan is expected to launch his campaign for the upcoming 2021 State Assembly elections, and will be appearing on stage with Rajinikanth on November 9.

According to the statement, Kamal will also unveil a statue of his father and freedom fighter D Srinivasan, on his death anniversary, in Paramakudi on November 7.

On November 8, he will also unveil a statue of writer and director K Balachander, whom he considers his mentor, at the new office premises of Raaj Kamal Films International on TTK Road.

Later that evening at 3.30 pm Kamal’s iconic directorial debut film ‘Hey Ram’ will be screened at the Sathyam theater in Chennai followed by a question and answer session with industry stalwarts to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

On November 9, a musical tribute by Isaigniani Ilayaraja with SPB and Kamal himself singing will mark the evening and Superstar Rajinikanth along with other big actors and actresses of Indian cinema will be gracing the occasion.
