Rajini, Kamal condemn Lankan blasts; close shave for Radikaa

While top stars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have condemned the bomb blasts in Sri Lanka, it has emerged that actress Radikaa Sarathkumar had a close shave in the attacks.

“OMG bomb blasts in Sri Lanka, God be with all. I just left Colombo Cinnamongrand hotel and it has been bombed, cant believe this, shocking!” Radikaa posted.

Superstar Rajinikanth said, “I have no words to console people who were affected by the bomb blast that happened on the Easter Day.”

Kamal Haasan, president of Makkal Needhi Maiam, tweeted: “Ironic that the island that spawned the word serendipity is not able to find it. My deepest sympathies to those affected by the bombs in Sri Lanka. The Government should be impartial and swift in rendering justice.”

Filmmaker and Naam Tamilar Katchi founder Seeman condoled the deaths and pointed out it was a planned attack.

Former US President Barack Obama tweeted: “The attacks on tourists and Easter worshippers in Sri Lanka are an attack on humanity. On a day devoted to love, redemption, and renewal, we pray for the victims and stand with the people of Sri Lanka.”

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, “Indian High Commission in Colombo has conveyed that National Hospital has informed them about the death of three Indian nationals. Their names are Lokashini, Narayan Chandrashekhar and Ramesh. We are ascertaining further details.”

She added: “I have just spoken to the Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka H.E. Mr Tilak Marapana. He confirmed that unfortunately, 207 persons have lost their lives and more than 450 are injured in the terror blasts.”
