“Vannakam.” With just one word, superstar Rajinikanth made his Facebook debut. On Instagram, posting an image from his 2016 film Kabali, the actor-turned-politician said, “Vannakam! Vandhuten nu sollu”.
In both platforms, Rajinikanth got lakhs of followers soon after his joining. “Welcome to the virtual world Thalaivaaa,” commented one fan. “Facebook joined Rajinikanth,” said another.
Earlier this week, Rajinikanth made headlines after his rousing political speech at an educational institute in Chennai.
He was invited to unveil the statue of M G Ramachandran. Addressing a packed audience, Rajinikanth slammed the present state government for failing to do its duty. Rajinikanth also admitted that he entered politics to fill the void in Tamil Nadu politics.
On the work front, Rajinikanth awaits the release of Kaala, which is directed by Pa Ranjith. The teaser of the film has set the internet on fire and has clocked more than 15 million views on YouTube.
Joining the popular social media networks is clearly a step towards his efforts to look more appealing to youngsters.
