Today is legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan’s birth anniversary. Meanwhile in a good news to his fans, his landmark movie Rajapart Rangadurai will be re-released for Deepavali, in digital version.

The movie is being given colour correction and digitally restored with enhanced audio. According to Balakrishna, who is bankrolling the venture, “I am so proud to be part of this prestigious venture.”

It is a 1973 Tamil Drama Film directed by P.Mathavan and stars Sivaji Ganesan and Ushanandini. It narrates the story about a poor drama actor.

It is a film on theatre artists who in time have been ignored, they play all roles from mythology characters to patriotic people but fail to appeal a modern genre of viewers who part their ways to more glamour and glitter.

It is a symbolic film of past being rejected by the present and love and affection have no place in a selfish world. Sivaji Ganesan’s one of the most outstanding film roles, where he displays his characters like Bhagat Singh, Joker, Tiruppur Kumaran and even Lord Murugan.

The film was produced by V C Guhanathan. The music composed by M. S. Viswanathan, while lyrics written by Kannadasan The songs became hugely popular and contributed to the success of the film.
