Raja apologises for remarks against Chief Minister
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader A Raja on Monday apologised for calling Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami an “illegitimate child” at an election rally.
A Raja apologised for his remarks against him a day after CM Palaniswami got emotional and cried over the remark while campaigning for the upcoming assembly election.
Aplogising for his “illegitimate child” remark, A Raja said he was hurt after seeing CM Palaniswami crying during a poll rally. A Raja also said his intention was not to attack his personal life but “was only comparing their political careers”.
On Monday, Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral officer Satyabrata Sahoo sent a report to the Election Commission over remarks made by A Raja against CM EPS. The report was compiled on the basis of inputs shared by district election officials.
The EC will now decide on further action against DMK leader and former union minister A Raja.
A Raja had on Saturday triggered a row by insinuating that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS) was “born of an illegitimate affair as a premature baby.”
