Raids continue at Vijay’s house, Rs 65 crore seized from financier

Raids continued for the second consecutive day today at the properties of actor Vijay. Income Tax officials also questioned him, after bringing him to Chennai from Neyveli, where he was shooting for Master.

Income tax searches on Vijay, film production company AGS Entertainment and financier Anbu Cheziyan are continuing for the second day today. Income tax department sources said searches would go on till Thursday evening.

“We are yet to complete the searches. We are questioning people present on the premises. It will take more time to complete the searches,” a senior I-T official reportedly said.

Officials of the Income Tax Department reportedly found Rs 65 crore during raids on a powerful financier in the Tamil film industry.

“The counting is still going on and the total seizure is likely to go up,” an official said. Officials claim their probe revealed unaccounted transactions between Anbu Cheliyan and Vijay following which the actor’s home on East Coast Road outside Chennai was raided. Vijay is being questioned today as well.

Income Tax officials carried out searches at 20 locations including the residence and office of Kalpathi S Aghoram, an AGS promoter, and at the screens owned by his group.
