Quiz competition at Palace for underprivileged students
Round Table India and Ladies Circle India Organised Quiz for FTE School Students
Madras Mylapore Round Table 3 ( MMRT 3) Madras Mylapore Ladies circle 4 ( MMLC 4) organised quiz at the Amir Mahal for the schools supported by Round table India and Ladies circle India hosted by the Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali, Dewan to Prince of Arcot.
Around ten FTE ( Freedom Through Education) schools along with one teacher from each school participated in the Quiz and it was conducted by Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali who is also a quiz master.
The chief guest for the event was Neerja Malik, Global cancer ambassador and Author of I inspire. TR. Santhosh Raj, National secretary, Round Table India, TR. Vijayraghavendra, Area 2 Chairman, CR. Divya Chetan, Area 2 Chairperson and members of Round Table India and Ladies Circle India were present at the event.
Around 70 students belonging to standard eight to standard ten participated in the quiz. It had seven rounds, with oral, written, video and audio segment. Participants competed in groups of seven with each round having ten questions on science, world history, geography, mathematics, Cinema and music.
Post the quiz competition, Round Table India and Ladies Circle India distributed 100 monthly provision kits to the underprivileged at the Amir Mahal.
The Dewan played the role of a brilliant quizmaster as well as the host. Trophies were distributed to the winning groups and certificates of participation were distributed to all the participating students.
First prize was bagged by Smt Krishna Moolchand Maheshwari Vivekananda vidyalaya Thiruninravur School and second and third was bagged by Gurukulam Trust children school Kovalam and Ambattur municipal high school Kamarja puram school respectively.
Chairman MMRT 3 Rahul Chabbria, Chairperson MMLC4 Shilpa Katrela , said, “we are grateful to Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali for being a wonderful host and helping us in organising the quiz for the underprivileged students. We wanted students to have a different experience. We are glad that students got a chance to experience quiz competition and visit the palace. And they enjoyed their scrumptious lunch which was served at palace to them after the quizzing session.”
“This is the first time I’m taking part in this quiz and got a chance to visit the palace. I’m feeling very grateful and delighted to come to the palace for a quiz competition. It was a very friendly atmosphere while being competitive and the other teams cheered for us when we won,” said, a student Thirupathi from Ambattur municipal high school Kamarja puram school Chennai.
