Days after the protest by a section of producers, who even locked the office of Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) recently, the honchos of the association led by its president Vishal will hold an emergency meeting later today to discuss the issue.
Sources say vice presidents Prakashraj, Gautham Vasudev Menon and key members of the council will attend the meet. The office-bearers are contemplating action on those who locked the office.
Also the meeting will discuss on conducting ‘Isayaraja 75′, a mega music show to honour veteran music composer Ilayaraja in Chennai on 2 and 3 February.
Following the stand-off between two groups in Tamil Film Producers Council, the organisation’s president Vishal filed a plea in the Madras High Court and got relief.
Vishal appealed in the High Court after the TFPC office was sealed. The court directed officials to remove the seal immediately.
On December 19, a few producers protested against Vishal and locked the Tamil Film Producers’ Council office in T Nagar and Anna Salai in Chennai. The producers also raised slogans against Vishal and his team for not fulfilling the promises they made during the election in 2015.
In a tweet, Vishal said, “Police who were mute yesterday wen unauthorised ppl locked the doors & gates of TFPC have arrested me & my colleague today for no fault of ours, absolutely unbelievable.”
The TFPC president added: “We will fight back, wil do everything to conduct Ilayaraja sir event & raise funds to help Producers in distress.
