Actor Karthi, who had last year acted in three movies namely – Dev, Kaithi and Thambi, has completed his next movie Sulthan, which is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan of Remo fame.
The film’s producer SR Prabhu has now revealed that 90 per cent of the film’s shoot and editing have been completed. He also said that he is looking foward to complete the remaining portions. However, he said that the team hasn’t decided on the release date yet.
Prabhu tweeted, “#Sulthan 90% shoot & Major edit are over. Looking at the possibilities to finish the balance works beside #COVID19 .This will be one of the biggest production & a complete entertainer from @DreamWarriorpic. As you all know.. no plans on the release yet! @Bakkiyaraj_k.#JaiSulthan.”
In an earlier tweet, he said, “#CoronaOutbreak is delaying everything including #Sulthan Update! Let’s keep calm and be safe!!”. The film will mark Kannada star Rashmika Mandanna’s debut in Tamil.
Last year, Dream Warrior Pictures, producers of Sultan had issued a press statement saying that the film is not about the life story of Tipu Sultan so the protests organized by a few are merely for the self-publicity.
Dream Warrior Pictures also condemned protestors who are trying to enter into the creative freedom space of filmmakers and they should stop painting films with religious shades which will eventually ruin the image of the creators and celebrated icons whom they are protesting for.
