Priyamani replaces Shriya as heroine of Asuran remake

The National Award winning actress is set to play the role Manju Warrier played in the original. Tollywood star Venkatesh, on the other hand, will play Dhanush’s character in the remake.

The Tamil original was directed by Vetri Maaran. The film was based on the novel, Vekkai by Poomani. Asuran received rave reviews from the critics and the audience alike.

To be produced by Suresh Babu and Asuran’s original producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, Srikanth Addala of Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu has been roped in to direct the film.

Priyamani was last seen in the Amazon Prime series ‘The Family Man’. The rest of the cast and crew of the film are yet to be finalized and an official announcement is expected to be made soon.
