Priya Bhavani Shankar talks about her role in Indian 2

Priya Bhavani Shankar has confirmed media reports which said she has been roped in for Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2 directed by Shankar.

“So this big thing has been exciting me for a while now. I believe in the universe and the universe gives you what you demand with your actions,” she said in a Instagram post.

The news anchor turned actress added: “But playing lead along side @ikamalhaasan sir and my fav @worldofsiddharth and our ‘Queen’ lady @kajalaggarwalofficial under Shankar Sir’s direction is a bunch of blessings at a shot😊 tell me about @anirudhofficial musical ❤️ #indian2.”

Recently, cinematographer Ravi Varman opted out of Indian 2 due to the delay in shooting and also because he is part of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan which is expected to start rolling by the end of this year.

Following this, Shankar has tied up with Rathnavelu who earlier worked with the director in superstar Rajinikanth starrer Enthiran.

Since Indian 2 has been lying on the shelves for nearly 5 months, cinematographer Ravi Varman, who was excited to work on the film, had to back out. Sources close to the team reveal that the cinematographer had signed other projects which will begin soon.

Indian 2 marks the reunion of Shankar and Kamal Haasan after two decades. Having teased fans with the first poster of the film on the occasion of Pongal earlier this year, the makers are now geared up to complete shooting the project as planned in a span of next six months.
