President Murmu appoints new governors for Odisha, Tripura

The President of India Droupadi Murmu has appointed new governors for Odisha and Tripura. While former Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das has been appointed Governor of Odisha, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu has been made Governor of Tripura.

Raghubar Das served as the CM of Jharkhand between 2014 and 2019. Das was first elected as an MLA in 1995 when Bihar and Jharkhand were one state.

Till date, Raghubar Das holds the distinction of being the only leader who completed full five-year-term as the chief minister of Jharkhand.

On the other hand, Nallu Indrasena Reddy is a BJP leader from Telangana and a three-time MLA. He also held the post of national secretary of the BJP.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan press communique added that President Droupadi Murmu is pleased to make the appointments that will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices. Das is currently serving as a national vice president of the BJP.
