President Droupadi Murmu to take part in the 10 convocation of Tamil Nadu Central University on 3 September
President Droupadi Murmu will be the chief guest at the 10th convocation of the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) on September 3.
This marks a significant event for the university, as the President, who is the ‘Visitor’ to the central university, will be addressing the graduating students.
The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. M. Krishnan, confirmed that President Murmu has graciously consented to attend the ceremony, which will be held on the university’s Neelakudi campus near Tiruvarur.
Her presence is a matter of great honor and privilege for the university and the state.
This will be a momentous occasion for the graduating students, as they will receive their degrees and medals directly from the country’s first citizen.
Around 900 students are expected to receive their undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD degrees at the ceremony. The event is a testament to the university’s growing academic prominence.
The President’s attendance has also prompted heightened security preparations across the Tiruvarur district. Police and other security agencies are working in coordination to ensure the event’s smooth and secure conduct.
Previous plans for the President to attend a convocation at CUTN were canceled, making this year’s visit particularly anticipated.
