Prakash Raj has acted in Priyadarshan’s Tamil film Sila Samayangalil for free, said the director. “Prakash Raj did the film free of cost,” Priyadarshan said at the Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival, where the movie was screened.
It tells the story of eight characters who arrive at a pathology lab at 9 a.m. to give their blood for an AIDS test and it ends at 5 p.m. when the results arrive.
“I could have easily made a documentary on AIDS but it would have been seen by only a select section of the society,” he said.
“Back from #mumbaifilmfest screening Indian premiere of #SilaSamayangalil .wonderful ovation from film lovers. nanri..off to Europe tonight”, posted Prakash Raj, the lead protagonist of the film.
Sila Samayangalil also has Ashok Selvan and MS Baskar in pivotal roles. Touted to be a film on AIDS awareness, the film is said to be engaging and delivers a powerful message to the society.
It is produced by Prabhu Deva Studios and director Vijay’s Think Big Studios. And it is expected to soon have the theatrical release in India.
