Pradeep Ranganathan turns producer, collabs with Mamitha Baiju, Ashwath Marimuthu
Actor and filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan has officially stepped into film production by unveiling his new banner, PR Show. The banner’s maiden production, currently referred to as PRS01, was formally launched on Monday with a promotional video that also announced the commencement of filming.
The upcoming project stars Mamitha Baiju and filmmaker Ashwath Marimuthu in the lead, alongside Swasika, newcomer Anamika Mahi, and Telugu actor Sivaji Sontineni in important roles.
Although earlier speculation suggested that Pradeep’s first production would be a women-centric story, the makers have not confirmed those reports. Likewise, rumours that the film revolves around female characters and features Ashwath as a police officer remain unverified.
The film is directed by Alpha Unit, a filmmaking collective comprising Vishal TR, Yash V, Naren Saoda, Chanakkiyan R, Dhanush Kumar, and Ilamparithi. The group previously worked with Pradeep as assistant directors on his earlier directorial ventures.
Pradeep has also written the story for the film. Music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, who reunites with him after Dude. Coinciding with the launch, Sai released a promotional track titled Aane Wala Star on YouTube, with lyrics credited to the pseudonym ‘Dholu bholu’.
The technical team includes cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman, editor Pradeep E. Ragav, production designer Aswin Lara, and choreographer Dinesh Kadi. Deepan Raj serves as the creative lead, while Ramesh Narayanan is the creative producer.
The film marks Pradeep’s first full-fledged production venture after previously being associated as a co-producer on the Hindi remake of Love Today, Loveyapa. It also reunites him professionally with Mamitha Baiju following Dude and with Ashwath Marimuthu after Dragon. The makers have confirmed that the film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
Pradeep was most recently seen in Love Insurance Kompany, directed by Vignesh Shivan. Besides several projects currently in development, including an untitled directorial venture, his next acting project has not yet been officially announced.
