Prabhu Deva and Simran reunite after 25 years for a new family romance
Actors Prabhu Deva and Simran are set to share the screen as a lead pair once again, marking their reunion more than 25 years after their earlier collaborations in VIP and Time.
Both films, released in 1997 and 1999 respectively, were remembered in part for their popular music. Their upcoming project has therefore generated interest, particularly with GV Prakash Kumar composing the soundtrack.
Written and directed by Krishnanand Kottarapattu, the yet-to-be-released film is described as a heart-warming romantic entertainer designed for family audiences.
The cast also includes Mithun Jai Sankar and Smeha. Production was completed in a single schedule across Munnar and Chennai, and the film is now approaching the final stages of production.
The project brings Zion Films and MRP Entertainment together again following their collaboration on With Love. MRP Entertainment has also been associated with films such as Good Night, Lover and Tourist Family.
Behind the camera, Sharan Velayudhan is handling cinematography, while Raja Arumugam oversees editing. Rajeevan serves as production designer, with Shekar responsible for art direction.
Costume design is being handled by Anu Vardhan and Navaa Rajkumar, while Mahesh Mathew is in charge of the stunt choreography.
With two familiar screen personalities reuniting after a lengthy gap and GV Prakash Kumar leading the musical department, the film is aiming to appeal to viewers who enjoy nostalgic pairings and feel-good romantic stories.
