Pothanur Thabal Nilayam movie review

Story:

Set in the early 90s, Praveen aspires to become an entrepreneur and chooses the field o computer.

But his idea gets rejected by the banks and people also do not approve of it at that time.

Things do not seem to go Praveen’s way and disaster strikes when Rs 7 lakh gets stolen from his father’s office and he is held responsible for it.

Praveen has 36 hours to prove his father’s innocence and retrieve the money. What unravels next forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

The plus point of the movie is the way the sets look realistic to bring in the 90s period.

All the works are near authentic and detailing are commendable.

Praveen takes his own sweet time to establish the characters in the first half, but the movie does not get into boredom zone. The premise is well set for the second half during the interval.

The second half has enough twists and turns to keep the proceedings in a interesting manner.

As far as performances are concerned, Praveen has done his part well without much effort.

Anjali Rao as the female lead does a neat job.

Rest of the cast have also done their part well.

Cinematographer Sukumaran Sundar’s work is appreciable. Music by Tenma is good in places.
