Actor Vishal has come forward to take care of education expenses of seven-year-old Manisha, whose father Arumugam, an auto driver, was killed in a mishap involving a Porsche car in Chennai a few days ago.
It has been only four months since Manisha lost her mother and younger sister. Even before she could recover from the loss, news of her father’s death on Monday has left the girl shattered.
On coming to know about this, Vishal was saddened and immediately came forward to take care of her education expenses through his Devi Trust, his publicist said.
Meanwhile, Vikas Anand, the accused in the Porsche car accident in Chennai that claimed the life of the autorickshaw driver and injured 10 others on Monday morning, approached the principal sessions court on Wednesday seeking bail.
Police said Vikas (22), a professional car racer and a resident of T Nagar, and his friend Charan Kumar were returning after attending a party thrown by Tuti Patriot, who won the Tamil Nadu Premier League final held at Chepauk on Sunday night when the accident happened on the R K Salai.
Both of them were said to be drunk. The car rammed the median and ploughed through autorickshaws parked on the roadside.
Speaking to the news channel, another auto driver Sundar who witnessed the accident said, “I heard a screeching noise of brakes…that’s all. My chest was hurting and I went blank. I realized what had happened only when the police came… they only helped the car driver and took him away.”
