Ajayan Bala, the screenplay and dialogue writer of various super hit movies, is making directorial debut with a film titled ‘Ajayan Balavin Mylanji’, bankrolled by Ajay Arjun Productions and presented by Dr. Arjun. The title of the movie was originally ‘Mylanjii’, but now it has been changed to ‘Ajayan Balavin Mylanji’, since another movie with the same title hit the screens recently.
Speaking about this, Ajayan Bala said, “It is very important to regularize the rights of film titles. Due to issues in this process, we had to change the title of our film even though we registered the title ‘Mylaanji’ a decade ago. We have completed the entire shoot in just one month. Most of the scenes were shot in Ooty and Chezhiyan’s cinematography will be much talked about. The film has taken shape as a beautiful emotional ride.”
Speaking further, he said, “It is very important to protect the environment as we have already feeling the ill-effects of climate change. The film has been conceptualised as a love story emphasizing this concept.”
Shooting for the film, which is a beautiful love story set in hilly area, has been completed in just one month. It’s a story that talks about the need to protect the environment.
‘Ajayan Balavin Mylanji’ is slated to hit the theaters in February to mark Valentine’s Day, with the post-production work going on in full swing.
With complete confidence in a good story, leading experts of Tamil cinema have joined hands for the film without prioritising remuneration. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja is the Music Composer, Chezhiyan is the Director of Photography, Sreekar Prasad is the Editor, and Lalgudi Ilayaraja the Art Director.
‘Isaignani’ Ilayaraja, who loved and appreciated the story of the film, has penned lyrics for all the four songs himself. The director said that the movie’s songs will be the anthem of lovers from next year.
India’s leading editor Sreekar Prasad, who has worked for mega movies including Ponniyin Selvan and RRR, editing ‘Ajayan Balavin Mylanji’ is another highlight of the project.
Sriram Karthick, who starred in ‘Kannimadam’, is playing the lead role in the film as a natural photographer, while Krisha Kurup of ‘Goli Soda 2’ fame is playing the female lead. The movie will have Munishkanth and Thangadurai in pivotal roles. Singampuli plays an important character that appears throughout the movie. It is to be noted that Sriram Karthick is the SIIMA award winner for best debut actor.
Ajayan Bala, who has been working in Tamil cinema in various capacities for the past two decades as screenplay writer, dialogue writer and actor, was an integral part of notable movies including ‘Chithiram Pesuthadi’, ‘Pallikoodam’, ‘Madarasapattinam’, ‘Deivathirumagal’, ‘Manithan’, ‘Chennaiyil Oru Naal’, ‘Lakshmi’, and Thalaivi’.
Ajayan Bala, who directed one of the six stories in the 2017 film ‘Aaru Athiyayam’, has written and directed a full-length film for the first time with ‘Ajayan Balavin Mylanji’.
