Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi chose Vijay’s Kaththi remake as his comeback film. Titled as Khaidi No. 150. The film grossed more than 150 crores at the box office.
The recent reports from the Telugu media houses say that Chiranjeevi has watched Ajith’s blockbuster Tamil film Vedalam and loved director Siva’s packaging. Reports add that Chiranjeevi has asked director Meher Ramesh to helm the remake and the scripting process is underway.
According to reports, the official announcement regarding the project will be made on Megastar’s birthday on August 22 and ‘Billa’ fame Meher Ramesh will be the one to direct it.
A source told a leading portal that the senior hero is impressed with the changes made to the original script to suit his image and regional sensibilities. He reportedly gave a green signal to begin the pre-production formalities.
It’s worth mentioning that Chiranjeevi was all set to star in the Telugu remake of Malayalam film Lucifer. He had even announced that the remake will be directed by Sujeeth of Saaho fame.
However, latest reports indicate that the project might not take off immediately as Chiranjeevi is not happy with the changes made to the script to suit Telugu sensibilities. Telugu 360 report, however, added that Chiranjeevi was happy with the script of Vedalam remake when it was recently brought to his attention.
Previously it was speculated that Pavan Kalyan would take up the lead role of this movie and that it was to be directed by Nisan of Jilla fame. We are yet to hear why and how Chiranjeevi came in place of Pawan Kalyan.
