The audio launch of Savarakkathi turned into an emotional one when actress Poorna broke into tears while thanking the film’s writer and producer Mysskin, lead actor Ram and her mom (who was in the audience) during her speech.
Bigwigs of Tamil cinema attended the event. The film, starring director Ram in the lead, stars Poorna in the female lead. The actress, when speaking about her experience in Tamil cinema, got emotional on stage.
A host of celebs came to wish the film, which has music by Arrol Corelli (of Pissasu fame). It is being directed by newcomer G R Adithya.
The Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moondramandu and Jannal Oram actress plays Subathra, a pregnant deaf woman in Savarakkathi. Speaking about the role, she says, “I get very emotional when I talk about Subathra and that is the reason I broke down during the audio launch.”
She adds: “I am too young to play a mother of two children. I was sporting a prosthetic belly (made in Mumbai) throughout the shoot. At one point in time, I started eating like a pregnant woman.”
