Bharatiya Janata Party state unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan has said the BJP or Hindu organisations are not responsible for the violent incidents happened in Coimbatore after the murder of a Hindu Munnani functionary.
While Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan has asked police to probe whether the killers of Hindu Munnani functionary, C Sasikumar, had any link with terrorists in Pakistan.
He said this in Coimbatore, while replying to a specific question on reasons behind attacks on leaders of Hindu outfits.
Radhakrishnan said it has to be taken into account that a few days after “Pakistan-sponsored attack at Uri”, the city of Coimbatore witnessed the murder of a Hindu outfit functionary, which was “undoubtedly a terrorist activity.”
Speaking to reporters at the BJP State headquarters, Kamalalayam in Chennai, Tamilisai said she welcomed other party leader’s sympathetic statements after the murder.
But she was quick to condemn the statement of Tamilnadu Congress president S Thirunavukkarasar blaming the BJP and Hindu organisations for the violence that followed the murder.
She reiterated that it was miscreants who had made use of the situation and created problems in Coimbatore after the murder. She clarified that Sasikumar was not involved in any illegal activities and that he was done in only because he was an active worker of the Munnani.
