The Election Commission on Friday decided to postpone polling in Aravakurichi and Thanjavur Assembly constituencies to June 13 instead of holding it on May 23 as scheduled earlier.

The EC notification came a few hours after its counsel agreed in the Madras high court to postpone the already deferred election by three more weeks.

The notification said the probe teams inspecting two constituencies had submitted their reports and that more time was required to study the situation.
