Polling underway for final phase of assembly elections in West Bengal

The second and final phase of polling in the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 is underway today across 142 constituencies.

By 9 a.m., the Election Commission reported a turnout of 18.39 per cent, with long queues forming in Kolkata, Howrah, and the 24 Parganas districts.

Security forces are out in full strength to ensure peaceful voting, with reports of isolated incidents, including an EVM malfunction in Baranagar and a BJP polling agent injured in Nadia.

The vehicle of the BJP candidate has been attacked by the goons at Basanti in South 24parganas.
