PM Modi to inaugurate Rs 68,000 crore projects in Odisha today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha and Assam on Saturday. He is slated to unveil major projects in both the states, including the new campus of the IIM-Sambalpur in Odisha, and also meet the BJP’s core committee in Assam.

The Prime Minister will arrive at the Jharsuguda airport in the afternoon and head to the IIM-Sambalpur campus where Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Governor Raghubar Das and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will join him.

Besides the Rs 400-crore campus, Prime Minister Modi will also unveil infrastructure projects worth Rs 68,000 crore in sectors such as power, roads and railways.

Before leaving for Guwahati in the evening, he will address a public meeting at the Remed Ground, officials said.

During his two-day trip to Assam, the prime minister will unveil projects worth Rs 11,600 crore.

On Friday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Prime Minister Modi will meet the BJP’s state core committee on Saturday night and discuss party affairs.

On Sunday, he will address a public meeting at the Veterinary College Playground in Khanapara, where many state and central projects will be unveiled.

Some of the major projects for which foundation stones will be laid are the Kamakhya temple corridor (Rs 498 crore) and the six-lane road from the new airport terminal (Rs 358 crore) in Guwahati.
