Planning to Pursue MBA? Here are Top 5 MBA Entrance Exams

Although CAT and XAT are the most popular entrance exams for pursuing MBA, there are a lot of other exams at national and state level which would increase the chances for the students to get into one of the renowned management institutes and B-Schools.

Candidates may hereby check the list of management entrance exams other than CAT  and XAT about which a candidate must be aware of along with the schedule of those exams and the latest events taking place.

We would be first talking about national entrance exams moving towards state levels exam. Following is the list of the exams from which candidates may get an idea of the opportunities that they have with these exams:-

1. CAT (Common Admission Test) :-
It is a national level management entrance exam for admissions in prestigious IIMs and other major B-Schools. The exam is conducted on annual basis. Candidates firstly need to application form on the official website after checking the eligibility criteria of the exam within the pre-decided deadline.
CAT also provides application correction window for the students who unintentionally made errors while filling up the form.
Application procedure for the current session for CAT has ended on Sep 30, 2018.
This year, the exam would be held on Nov 25, 2018 and will be conducted by IIM-Calcutta. CAT is held each year by one of the IIMs on a rotational basis.
The result for the exam will be announced in second week of January 2019.

2. XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test):-
XAT is conducted by XLRI (Xavier Labor Relations Institute) Jamshedpur offers admission in XLRI Jamshedpur and other participating institutes of XAT all over the country. About 90,000 students take the exam yearly which increases the level of competition. Application process for XAT 2019 started from August 20, 2018 and would close on November 30, 2018. The exam is held in online mode. The exam will be conducted on Jan 6, 2019 and the result would get out on Jan 31, 2019.

3. IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade):-
IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade) exam for the current session i.e. 2019-2021 will be conducted in online mode. The registration for the exam is available in online mode only. Previously, the registration was done through both online and offline mode but from this year, offline mode has been eradicated. The online registration commenced from Aug 6, 2018 and ended on Sep 24, 2018 on official website of IIFT. Candidature would get confirmed only after the candidates have successfully made payment for the application fee. Date of exam as decided by the organization is December 2, 2018. Result will be announced on official website on Jan 5, 2019 (tentatively).

4. CMAT (Common Management Aptitude Test):-
The exam was formerly conducted by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) but from this year, NTA (National Test Agency). Along with this, other major exams have also been taken by NTA from other organizations. NTA has opened test centers for the students to train them regarding the revised exam pattern and navigation guidelines in the actual mock test. The application process for the exam will commence from November 1, 2018 and will be functional till November 30, 2018. Candidates may download the admit card from official website from Jan 7, 2019 and the exam is scheduled to be on Jan 28, 2018. Students may expect the result of IIFT 2019 on Feb 10, 2019 on official website which would be accessible to the candidates after login using their credentials.

5. NMAT (NMIMS Management Aptitude Test):-
NMAT is a university level management entrance exam. Students seeking admissions in Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies have to appear in this exam compulsorily. The exam is being conducted by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council). The scorecard of the exam is accepted at many management institutes in India. Registration process started online on the official website from July 3, 2018 and was active till October 3, 2018. For those students who could not register within the deadlines, late registration was functional from October 4, 2018 till October 14, 2018. Exams are scheduled to be held from October 4, 2018 till December 17, 2018. Result is expected to be released in somewhere second week of January 2019. Candidates must be careful while downloading scorecard as after March 31, 2019 scorecard would not be accessible.
