“Photographer” Movie Review

An inspiring exploration of nature, courage, and the power of following one’s dreams.

Veera (Ashraf), an aspiring photographer with an unwavering passion for nature, embarks on an extraordinary journey into the mysterious Mathikettan Solai reserve forest to capture a rare natural phenomenon. Ironically, Veera is someone who cannot shake hands without sanitiser and is terrified of even a harmless lizard. Watching this meticulous city dweller adapt to the unforgiving wilderness becomes one of the film’s most engaging aspects.

Determined to carve out his own identity instead of joining his family’s business, Veera sees photography as his calling. Encouraged by his girlfriend Dharshini (Janani Saminathan) and supported by his close friend Kabilan (Karunakaran), a talented digital artist, he ventures into the legendary forest despite repeated warnings from the locals. The lush and enigmatic Mathikettan Solai, nestled in the Western Ghats, provides a captivating backdrop for his adventure.

As Veera journeys deeper into the forest, he encounters unexpected challenges that test both his physical endurance and mental resilience. Strange visions, confusing trails, and the constant struggle for survival create an atmosphere of mystery and intrigue. Karunakaran delivers another dependable performance, while seasoned actors Aadukalam Naren and Vela Ramamoorthy bring authenticity and gravitas to their supporting roles.
