Petta Marana Mass single is ‘thara local’, shatters records

The first single, ‘Marana Mass’, from Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Petta was released on Monday and it was a ‘thara local’ song with pulsating beats by Anirudh Ravichander.

The song video, a longer version of the recording, also reveals Rajini’s name in this film – Kaali. A peppy dance number, the song begins with Anirudh’s voice followed by SP Balasubrahmanyam’s.

The first single has created a stir on social media. Marana Mass is receiving praise from all quarters. The song starts with Parkathana Pora Intha Kaaliyoda Attatha in Rajinikanth’s voice. SP Balasubramaniam has crooned the track, and this is after many years that the singer has sung a song for Rajinikanth.

The song’s main hook line is: ‘Maranam Massu Maranam’, ‘Toughu Tharanum’, ‘Athukku Avan Than Poranthu Varanum’ But the biggest surprise of the song is the two lines sung by SP Balasubrahmanyam who returns to become Rajinikanth’s voice after Lingaa’s ‘Oh Nanba Nanba Vaa’.

The lyric video of the song Marana Mass, sung by S.P. Balasubrahmanyam and music composer Anirudh Ravichander, has lyrics written by Vivek and features stills from the film.

The song celebrates the ever-growing charisma of the Superstar, who has retained the number one position in the film industry for over four decades. The song opens with Rajinikanth’s signature smirk coupled with a punchline. The rough translation of the dialogue reads, “You will see this Kaali’s game from now on.”

Sun Pictures, the producers of the movie, tweeted: “#MaranaMass Lyric video crosses 2.5 Million views in real time on YouTube!”
