Pattathu Arasan movie review
Story:
Rajkiran is a veteran Kabbadi player and has been playing the sport for more than 40 years. People of his village respect Rajkiran and his clan.
But things take a turn when Rajkiran’s son R K Suresh dies. This causes a rift in the family after which R K Suresh’s wife Radhika leaves the house along with her son Atharvaa.
However, Atharavaa yearns to be reunited with his family. Was he able to do that, What happens next forms the crux of the story.
Analysis:
Atharvaa and Rajkiran have delivered earnest performances. Atharvaa has tried his best to carry the role and his efforts should be appreciated.
Rajkiran is terrific as usual. His performance in the second half is top notch. Ashika gets good scope and has utilised it well.
Rest of the cast have also done their part well. Director Sarkunam has based the movie on sports and has infused family drama and emotions into the script.
This has worked to a certain extent. While this is the strength of the movie, it also is its weakness.
There are certain moments which elevates the scene. A few scenes are let down by the writing. Ghibran’s music is passable. Rest of the technical aspects are okayish.
