Pattampoochi movie review
Story:
The movie is set in the year 1989 where Jai is awaiting his death sentence. As his last wish, he asks to meet Honey Rose, a reporter.
Jai confesses that he is going to die for a murder that he did not commit, but also admits that he is the serial killer Pattampoochi who has murdered more than half-a-dozen people.
Following this revelation, Jai’s death sentence is put on hold by the Court and Sundar C is appointed as the investigation officer.
However, things take a turn when Jai reveals the actual reason behind his confession. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
Analysis:
Director Badri has based the story on the conflict between a serial killer with a mental disorder and a intelligent cop with suffers from PTSD.
Sundar C is his usual self and delivers a calm performance.
Jai suits the role of the pyscho killer as his innocent face acts a disguise required for the role. Honey Rose does her part well.
The cat and mouse chase between Sundar C and Jai are interesting, apart from which the movie follows the template serial killer story line.
Naveenth Sundar’s BGM is too loud which at times gets tiresome.
Cinematographer Esaki Krishnasamy has tried to suit the lighting to the mood of the movie.
A bit more crispier writting would have made the movie all the more a better watch.
