Pahalgam Attack Case: NIA Chargesheets 6, Names LeT, TRF
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday filed a detailed chargesheet against six individuals, including three dead terrorists and a Pakistan based handler, in connection with the Pahalgam terror attack.
The chargesheet also names Pakistan based Lashkar e Taiba (LeT) and its proxy outfit The Resistance Front (TRF) for their role in the attack that claimed the lives of 25 tourists and a local pony operator.
The 1,597 page charge sheet was filed before a special NIA court in Jammu and details a deep rooted conspiracy traced back to Pakistan, which the agency said has been unabatedly sponsoring terrorism against India.
According to the chargesheet, the attack was planned, facilitated and executed by LeT chief Hafeez Saeed, who is designated as a global terrorist by India and the United States, and TRF chief Habibullah Malik alias Sajid Jatt.
Sajid Jatt, described as a Pakistani handler, has also been named as an accused in the case.
