NSA Ajit Doval holds crucial bilateral meetings on sidelines of BRICS security gathering

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met senior representatives from Iran, Ethiopia, Brazil and China during the 16th BRICS National Security Advisers’ Meeting in New Delhi.

During discussions with Iran’s Deputy Secretary for Defence Affairs at the Supreme National Security Council, Ghadir Nezamipour, both sides reviewed developments in West Asia and exchanged views on bilateral relations and cooperation within the BRICS framework.

Doval also met Million Lema Tadesse, Director of Analysis at Ethiopia’s National Intelligence and Security Service. The two officials discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation under the India-Ethiopia Strategic Partnership.

In talks with Brazil’s Secretary of Multilateral and Political Affairs, Carlos Cozendey, both sides reviewed bilateral relations and welcomed ongoing collaboration through BRICS initiatives.

The National Security Advisor additionally held discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The meeting focused on recent progress in India-China relations and efforts toward gradual normalization. Doval emphasized the importance of stable, predictable and constructive engagement in building mutual trust and understanding.
