Many Indians living abroad are batting for the Bharatiya Janata party and want the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be re-elected again.
One such person is Dr. Shobashaalini Chokkalingam, a famous cardiologist in Chicago. A Tamil, Shobashaalini makes it a point to take time off her busy schedule to highlight the achievements of Modi government.
“Though Indians live in foreign countries for many years, only in the last five years we feel proud, and that is because of Modi. His schemes and achievements have brought laurels to India and Indians,” she says.
People like Shobashaalini strongly believe only if the Modi government continues, the general public will be able to get many benefits and India will continue to get global recognition. “BJP’s victory is India’s victory,” they say.
Meanwhile, targeting Jammu and Kashmir’s regional parties, Modi on Sunday said he would not allow “the Abdullahs and the Muftis to divide the country.”
“I will never allow ‘Do Nishan, Do Vidhan and Do Pradhan’ (Two Constitutions, two flags, and two sovereign heads) to rule in our land. We are committed to the goal of Syama Prasad Mukherjee. I will not allow the Abdullahs and the Muftis to divide the country. Main na jhukta hu, na bikta hu (Neither I give in nor am I up for sale),” Modi said at a rally in Kathua.
