Pichaikkaran is all over the news columns ever since prime minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation. For, in that movie, there is a scene suggesting the government to ban Rs 500 and 1000 notes.
Now the latest update about the film is that, Pichaikkaran will have a sequel. Vijay Antony said that the makers are ready to start the project once they finalise on an intriguing script.
“The makers initially had no plans to come up with a sequel for Pichaikkaran, which was one of the few films this year, which reaped high returns in both Tamil and Telugu. However, many people seem to have been enquiring after this possibility, and so, they have decided to give it a shot. If everything goes well, the audience can expect a sequel to the film in 2018,” says Vijay.
Pichaikkaran is a 2016 Indian Tamil action thriller film directed by Sasi, starring Vijay Antony in the lead role. The film released on 4 March 2016. The Telugu dubbed version was titled as Bichagadu and was released on 13 May 2016.
Sasi began the production of Pichaikkaran in October 2014, and signed on Vijay Antony to feature in the lead role. The pair had earlier worked together in Dishyum (2006), in which Vijay Antony had composed the film’s music.
The team shot a schedule in Pollachi on Everwin spinning mills near Achipatty village in January 2015, before moving to Puducherry by June 2015.
