Nivetha Thomas, who acted as Superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter in Darbar recently, will be seen playing a powerful role in the Telugu remake of the Hindi film, Pink.
Pink, starring Taapsee and Amitabh Bachchan was well-received for its content. It was remade in Tamil as Nerkonda Paarvai, with Ajith playing the lead role.
Nivetha Thomas, Anjali and Ananya Nagalla have been roped in to play the roles of Taapsee Pannu, Kriti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang respectively. A few weeks ago, Pawan Kalyan and the rest of the team commenced shooting and photos of his look were leaked on the Internet.
The Telugu remake, which is jointly produced by Boney Kapoor and Dil Raju, will be helmed by director Sriram Venu. Composer SS Thaman, who is riding on the success of Ala Vaikuntapuramloo has been roped in as the music director.
Nivetha Thomas had earlier acted as Kamal Haasan’s daughter in Papanasam, the remake of Drishyam. Pawan Kalyan will be seen in the lawyer role played by Amitabh and Ajith.
Nivetha Thomas has the unique double of getting to play the daughter of both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth. After playing Kamal’s daughter in the 2015 film, Papanasam—which was also her last Tamil film—Nivetha Thomas is now back to Tamil cinema playing a daughter again, of Rajinikanth this time, in today’s release, Darbar.
She said in an interview, “After Papanasam, I was caught up with public exams. Then, I got a call from director Mohan Krishna Indraganti. I thought it was for a Tamil film but realised it was Telugu. I got a lot of good projects there and yet, did not stop listening to Tamil scripts.”
