Nila aka Meera Chopra, who recently lodged complaints against NTR Junior’s fans for abusing her in unparliamentary language, has now spoken about emotional exploitations in film industry.
She said, “Its really not about #nepotism, but an emotional exploitation of an actor which happens on daily basis in bollywood, and just bcoz of ur twisted whims and fancies!”
She said further: “Lots of people including me, wants to break the silence as to why actors commit suicide in this industry, what brings them to the edge. How does the system works against you, and how some directors exploit you emotionally and ruthlessly. (the wise ones never do and education plays a big part here) Ive been there and I still get subjected to it.”
The actress added: “But the point is how much support you get when you open up, and how many people stand with u. Has it stopped after sushant’s suicide?? NO…The fear of everything makes u take that step eventually. Its never about work, theres plenty in the industry, its about your self respect, dignity, principles and most of it your peace!!”
Earlier, on Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, she had said, “I just hope people dont forget his death like they always do and make this industry, this world a better place to live, to breathe with more compassion, more acceptance, more empathy, and less sadistic pleasures in running people down. Plz remember everybody is vulnerable!!”
Last month, Meera urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Telangana minister KT Ramarao to ensure that those who had abused her get punished.
“@hydcitypolice @CyberCrimeshyd @ysjagan @NCWIndia i need to report this account too.. this is excessive abusing. They are not stopping after an fir too. Kindly take action against this person!” she posted.
Nila also wrote: “@KTRTRS @RaoKavitha ive been abused of gangrape, acidattack, abused, cyberbullied and sl*tshamed by your state. @hydcitypolice has filed an fir and i hope for the safety of women this will investigated thoroughly.”
Minister KTR replied to her: “Ma’m, I have requested @TelanganaDGP and @CPHydCity to take stern action as per law based on your complaint.” And she replied: “Thanks sir, it really means a lot. This is very important for women safety. These people should not be left free to do crimes on women!”
