Nikhil Murugan Honoured with Kalaimamani Award for Outstanding Contribution to Tamil Cinema

At a grand ceremony held at Kalaivanar Arangam, Chennai, noted Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sri Nikhil Murugan was conferred with the prestigious Kalaimamani Award for the year 2023 by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

The award was presented by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin, in recognition of Nikhil Murugan’s exceptional service to the Tamil film industry. Over a career spanning three decades, he has worked as the public relations officer for more than 575 films, earning respect and admiration from leading artists and filmmakers.

Nikhil Murugan has successfully managed media and public relations for some of the most prominent names in Indian cinema, including Superstar Rajinikanth, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, legendary director K. Balachander, filmmaker Mani Ratnam, director Shankar, and music maestro A.R. Rahman.

Expressing his gratitude after receiving the award, Nikhil Murugan thanked the Government of Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for the recognition.

“I am deeply honored to receive the Kalaimamani Award. This recognition motivates me to continue my journey in the film industry with even greater enthusiasm,” he said.

The Kalaimamani Award, instituted by the Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Manram, is one of the state’s highest honors recognizing outstanding contributions in the fields of art, literature, and culture.
