The latest hot buzz in Kollywood is that Vijay’s Master will hit the screens on June 22 for the actor’s birthday. But sources close to the team said that the release date hasn’t been fixed yet.
The makers are hopeful that theatres and malls will be reopened post lockdown and things will eventually get better in June. Master is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and written by Rathnakumar and Pon Parthiban.
Recently, Master’s director Lokesh Kanagaraj on his Twitter handle dropped a hint that the Thalapathy Vijay starrer might soon release in theatres. Now, weeks after his tweet, reports claim that the makers are planning to release the movie on June 22. Reportedly, the makers of the upcomer are hopeful that till June, the malls and theatres will be reopened.
Vijay enjoys a very good market in overseas countries and states outside Tamil Nadu so the release date will be fixed only based on how the global governments relax the lockdown in their respective countries.
The audio launch event of Master was held in Chennai with limited public and keeping in mind all the safety measures. The event was attended by the likes of Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Vignesh Shivan, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and others.
Vijay’s fans have been upset since the actor’s upcoming movie Master is not releasing in theatres. The movie, which was slated to release in theatres last Thursday, couldn’t do it due to coronavirus lockdown.
All films that were set to release this month, including Master, have been pushed back to a later date. But the makers of Master still had something special planned for Thalapathy Vijay’s fans on the film’s initial release date.
