Nayanthara-RJ Balaji’s Mookuthi Amman shoots start in Kanyakumari

Nayanthara-starrer Mookuthi Amman which is to be directed by RJ Balaji commenced its shooting on Friday with a small ceremony which was held at Bhagavathi Amman Temple in Kanyakumari.

Later, the movie went on floors at Nagercoil. The first leg of production, according to the sources, will happen there and Nayanthara is expected to join the crew soon.

Balaji has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues of Mookuthi Amman, which he will be co-directing with NJ Saravanan. Reports also suggest that  Mookuthi Amman will be a satire loaded with spiritual elements.

The film will be bankrolled by Vels Films International, which incidentally produced LKG, Balaji’s debut film as a lead actor. Apart from this project the banner is also producing Gautham Menon’s next, Joshua, and has released the director’s long-delayed project, Enai Noki Paayum Thota.

Nayanthara is all geared up to play Goddess Amman in her upcoming film Mookuthi Amman. She is all set to turn vegan to play the role of a Goddess.

This is not the first time that Nayanthara is going to such extent to play a certain role in her film. When she essayed the role of Goddess Sita in Rama Rajyam, she became a vegetarian, quit watching television and stopped going to parties to bring authenticity to her role.

After playing second fiddle to heroes, RJ Balaji had played the lead in the Tamil political satire LKG which released this year and he had also doubled up as story and screenplay writer for the project. Balaji played the titular role while Priya Anand was seen as the leading lady.
