Nayanthara joins Rajinikanth’s Darbar sets

From today, Nayanthara has started shooting for superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Darbar, which is being directed by A R Murugadoss.

Reliable sources said the actress, who is the female lead of the movie, joined the sets in Mumbai and will complete her schedule, which involves some important scenes.

The first-look poster of Darbar was unveiled recently.
Lyca Productions, who is bankrolling the project, tweeted: “Here We Go! #Thalaivar167 😎 is #Darbar 🌟@rajinikanth @ARMurugadoss #Nayanthara @anirudhofficial @santoshsivan @sreekar_prasad pic.twitter.com/bNoEhne6xo.”

The film is helmed by AR Murugadoss, who is known for directing hit films like Thuppakki, Ghajini and most recently Sarkar. This will be Murugadoss’ first project with Rajinikanth.

The movie appears to be a cop drama of sorts. In the first look poster, Rajinikanth’s elated picture takes the centrestage as insignia from a cop’s uniform including a belt and a shoulder badge surround him.

A police dog, several guns and the Gateway of India (located in Mumbai) also appear on the first look poster. The filmmakers have not shared too many details about the project, which is fondly called Thalaivar 167.

It is also said that Rajinikanth is playing dual role in the film. He will be seen as an IPS officer and as a social activist in the upcoming movie. Rajinikanth has earlier donned the khaki in films like Moondru Mugam, Pandian and Kodi Parakuthu.
