Nayanthara returns as the divine warrior in the action-packed trailer of Mookuthi Amman 2

Nayanthara is set to reprise her role as the powerful goddess in Mookuthi Amman 2, but the sequel introduces an additional dimension to her character. The newly released trailer shows her as a police officer whose ordinary life takes an extraordinary turn when supernatural forces threaten innocent people.
The makers unveiled the trailer on Wednesday, offering a first look at the sequel to the 2020 film. Sundar C has taken over as director from RJ Balaji, who helmed and starred in the original.
The footage introduces Regina Cassandra and Duniya Vijay as formidable antagonists with destructive ambitions. Their arrival sets the stage for a conflict that brings the divine and human worlds together.
Nayanthara appears in the dual role of a police officer and the goddess Mookuthi Amman. Although she is portrayed as a determined figure confronting dangerous enemies, the trailer also reveals her character’s more vulnerable side, including her fear of sleeping alone.
As children and ordinary citizens face danger, the goddess is called upon to confront the emerging threat. The trailer promises a blend of mythology, action, comedy and large-scale visual effects, with Sundar C’s signature style evident in the presentation.
The supporting cast includes Urvashi, Yogi Babu, Myna Nandini, Garuda Ram, Abhinaya, Shruthy S, Singapuli Annavi, VR Swaminathan, Sivakumar S, Sunil Varma Indukuri, Varshini Venkat, Pala Karuppiah, Ananda Adhista Lakshmi, Nitin Sathyaa and Deblina Chaki.
With Nayanthara returning to a familiar character in a new avatar, the sequel is shaping up to offer a fresh take on the franchise’s mix of faith, fantasy and entertainment.
