Nayab Singh Saini takes oath as new Haryana CM
Nayab Saini, BJP’s Haryana unit president and Lok Sabha MP from Kurukshetra took oath as the new Chief Minister of the state.
He was elected the leader of the BJP’s legislature party at a meeting held on Tuesday.
The development comes after Manohar Khattar resigned as the Chief Minister of Haryana as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) snapped ties with its ally Jannayak Janta Party (JJP).
Khattar is tipped to contest the Lok Sabha elections.
Khattar and members of the state Cabinet met Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and submitted their resignation.
The developments mirror Gujarat and Uttrakhand where the entire Cabinet quit along with the CM and a new Cabinet under the leadership of a new CM was put in place.
