Naane Varuven review
Story:
Kathir and Prabhu are twins who are separated by birth after an astrologer predicts the Kathir will be evil personified.
Almost after 20 years later, Prabhu is married and has a daughter Sathya.
However, they start feeling the presence of paranormal activities. Sathya starts talking to her imaginary friend and later gets possessed.
What does this have to do with Kathir, what happens next forms the rest of the story.
Analysis:
Director Selvaraghavan makes his mark in the first half and is quite impressive.
There are enough horror and surprise elements in the first half to keep the audience on the edge of their seat.
However, the second half fails to live up to the expectations created in the first half.
Dhanush is the pillar of the movie. Playing dual characters is not new to the actor. However, this is one of his best works so far.
Indhuja gets a template wife role and does justice to her character.
Sathya’s performance is impressive and Elli AvrRam makes her mark in her extended cameo.
Yuvan Shankar Raja’s BGM is terrific and elevates the scenes.
Om Prakash’s camerawork gives the eerie feeling needed for the movie.
