Caste is everything for the people of a village. They are completely against inter-caste marriages and kills anyone who violates this.

Deivam is a uppercaste girl from the village who aspries to become an IAS. Similarly, Chella from lower caste wants to becomes a cop.

Though both of them are not related, rumours are spread that they are both in a relationship.

Following this, they both fall in love and become the target of the villagers.

Deivam is humiliated in front of the village, but she is adamant that she will live with Chella. So the villagers plot to kill her. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

Director M Kalanjiyam has made the movie based on the honour killings that took place across Tamilnadu.

Kalanjiyam has tried to present the movie as natural and close to reality as possible. The way he has got the work from the actors is commendable.

Being a debutant, Subapriya shines in her role and carries a heavy character with ease. She has done an impressive job, especially during the climax sequence.

Pugazh has delivered what was expected from him and there is still scope for improvement. Jaya Rao as Pugazh’s father has got into the skin of his character.

Seeman plays a important role and advices the youngsters about the ill effects of caste throughout the movie.

A K Priyan’s music gels well with the theme of the movie. Rest of the technical aspects are passable.
