Mohan Bhagwat urges dialogue with Gen Z, says protesters should not be branded anti-national

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has called for greater engagement with India’s younger generation, saying students participating in protests should not automatically be labelled anti-national.

Speaking at an event in Mumbai attended by members of Gen Z and Gen Alpha, Bhagwat said young people deserve respect and meaningful dialogue rather than quick judgement.

He described the present generation as more willing to question authority and seek logical explanations, adding that such questioning should be viewed positively in a democracy.

Bhagwat also said he considers today’s youth to be more honest than previous generations and stressed the importance of nurturing patriotism and public service among them.

Referring to recent protests, he said conclusions should not be drawn without verified facts, noting that conflicting reports often emerge during such incidents.

Calling protest a legitimate democratic tool, Bhagwat said discussion and consensus are essential for addressing genuine concerns, particularly in areas such as education where improvements are needed.
