Modi to flag off Chennai Metro Rail’s new services tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, will on Sunday inaugurate Chennai Metro Rail’s services upto Washermenpet.

Modi, who will visit Tirupur on Sunday, will flag off the Chennai Metro Rail’s services through video conferencing.

A CMRL release said today: “The Last stretch of the Chennai Metro Rail Project from AG-DMS to Washermenpet of 10 kms has been completed and is being jointly inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Thiru. Narendra Modi and The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru. Edappadi K Palaniswami via video conferencing at Thiruppur, Tamil Nadu on 10.02.019 at 3.15 pm.

During this event, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Thiru O.Panneerselvam, Hon’ble Minister of State for Finance and Shipping, Thiru. Pon. Radhakrishnan, Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker, Thiru.P. Dhanapal will be
participating at the event.

At Chennai Central Metro Station, Hon’ble Union Minister (Independent Incharge), Thiru Hardeep Singh Puri Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Hon’ble Minister for Fisheries, Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Thiru. D.Jayakumar, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Thiru. M.C.Sampath, will be participating in the function and will undertake metro ride post inauguration.

The Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Thiru M.C. Sampath inspected the Central Metro Station for the arrangements of inaugural functions of passenger services from AG-DMS to Washermenpet and discussed with Managing Director, CMRL, Thiru Pankaj Kumar Bansal., I.A.S, Directors, and Chief General Managers regarding inaugural function arrangements today (09-02-2019).”
