Miss You Movie Review

Siddharth’s ‘Miss You; is a beautiful love story

In Miss You, a filmmaker struggling with amnesia embarks on a fresh start in Bengaluru, inadvertently rediscovering a lost love while navigating hidden truths and political scheming. This captivating storyline weaves romance, humor, and drama into a delightful emotional journey.

The narrative follows Vasu (Siddharth), an ambitious filmmaker who suffers memory loss after a mysterious accident orchestrated by politician Singarayan. Two years later, Vasu begins anew in Bengaluru, forging a bond with Bobby (Karunakaran), a cheerful coffee shop owner. During a road trip, Vasu finds himself instantly drawn to Subbulakshmi (Ashika Ranganath), a fiery activist caught in traffic. Fate intervenes, revealing Subbulakshmi as Bobby’s neighbor and the auditor for his café. Although Subbulakshmi is skeptical of marriage, Vasu declares his love, only to face rejection.

A shocking twist emerges when Vasu’s parents and close friends (Balasaravanan and Maaran) disclose a hidden truth: Subbulakshmi is already his wife, and they are separated. This revelation deepens the narrative, delving into themes of love, identity, and reconciliation.

The film excels in its lighter moments, particularly through Siddharth’s camaraderie with his friends, evoking hearty laughter. Siddharth delivers a compelling performance as Vasu, navigating his emotional journey with authenticity. Karunakaran’s impeccable comic timing energizes the film, while Balasaravanan and Maaran offer humor and support in equal measure.

Set against the cozy backdrop of a coffee shop, the film evokes warmth and familiarity. However, its reliance on flashbacks for key revelations sometimes hampers the narrative flow. The choreography and certain story elements could have been more refined, though the pacing maintains audience engagement.

Ashika Ranganath portrays Subbulakshmi effectively, though her character would benefit from greater depth. The premise of rediscovering love with an estranged partner is tender and intriguing, even if not flawlessly executed.

Ultimately, Miss You is like a comforting neighborhood café—uncomplicated, inviting, and perfect for a laid-back outing. It offers an enjoyable blend of love, laughter, and life’s unexpected surprises, making it a charming pick for a casual movie night.
