Minister D Jayakumar and BJP Tamil Nadu unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan have slammed actor Kamal Haasan, who has of late been making political comments especially against the AIADMK.
“He is building an imaginary fort to capture the fort (Fort St George is the state secretariat). But that will not happen,” Tamilisai said.
Jayakumar said that Kamal appeared to be dependent more on social media than on party and workers. “Theorising in politics doesn’t work,” he said.
Speaking at a wedding reception organised by Thangavel, all-India treasurer of his fans’ association, in Coimbatore on Wednesday, he said people should not consider it as just a wedding function but an inauguration function (for politics).
At the airport later in the evening, the actor said he had to begin his political journey somewhere — it didn’t matter if it was Coimbatore or on Twitter.
“We will carry on with our work now. But we will march towards the fort when the right time comes,” Kamal said addressing his fans.
