Minister K P Anbazhagan tests positive for Covid-19

Higher Education Minister KP Anbazhagan has tested positive for COVID-19 and admitted to a private hospital in Manapakkam in Chennai.

According to reports, the minister came to the hospital on Wednesday. He took a CT scan which came out clear. Then Anbazhagan took a COVID-19 test which came out postive. He is categorised under mild case and he is on admission

Only recently, AIADMK MLA K Palani, representing Sriperumbudur in the State Assembly, had tested positive.

He was the second MLA in Tamilnadu to test positive after Opposition DMK Legislator J Anbazhagan, who later succumbed to Covid-19.

Anbazhagan was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Palacode constituency in 2011 and 2016.

He is currently the Minister for Higher Education in the Government of Tamil Nadu. He was previously the Information Minister. Anbazhagan was born on 30 April 1958 in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, India.

Anbazhagan, who is part of a COVID-19 control team and oversees control measures in North Chennai, had attended COVID-19 preventive and control measures review meeting held at Rippon building on Wednesday.
